Howdy ya'll! I'm playing with the idea og putting together a media pc using a mini or nano ITX board. the VIA EPIA NX 1.5GHz looks really nice, but it seems the C7 CPUs suck and the MPEG4 decoding acceleration do not work. The following quenstion therefore arises: is there some way I can possibly get the darn thing to do something useful, as in: recieving DVB-T MPEG4 with a tuner and acting as a DVD player? Wouild it make a difference if i tossed in an X1300 or X1550? I know ATi cards are a no-no, but it looks like there's no other way out when it comes to GPU cause those are the only somewhat new cards with PCI interface. An FX5200 could also be a possibility, but ain't it a bit slow? Or could it work? Anyone? -G.G. |
