Hi,
I wanted to know if somebody has been successful in building a KnoppMyth on EPIA-M 10K hardware + pcHDTV card and optimised for it. The necessary drivers for kernel and X (with XvMC) can be found at http://epia.kalf.org/ and http://www.alterself.com/~epia/wiki/tiki-index.php I am working on building kernel 2.4.25-epia2 for now. The pcHDTV card works properly in kernel 2.4.25 only and not 2.6.x so isn't interested in 2.6 right now. After this I will work on X + Unichrome. Can MythTV make use of all these optimizations/drivers ?

Another question is about prelinked binaries: has anybody tried prelinking binaries to make their system more responsive/faster ? More about prelink at http://freshmeat.net/projects/prelink/ and HOWTO at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/prelink-howto.xml Even on gentoo you can see a significant speed in startup according to the folks there.

If somebody has an EPIA-M development platform and can build these drivers + modules then I can host them on my site.

Thanks and keep up the good work ...

Update ...

Just noticed that pcHDTV.com has come out with an updated driver for linux-2.6.6 so I am going to compile the 2.6.6 kernel instead of 2.4.25 The EPIA patches are also available for 2.6.6 at http://www.epiawiki.org and both the patches applied fine. With config-knoppmyth (all modules) there were some errors with drm/i810_drv.c, drm/i830_drv.c, lirc/ATIUSB and another USB lirc stuff. Rest of the compilation is going on ... Will let everybody know the outcome.

On the other hand for X I am going to try to use the binary files provided in CLEXF40038.ZIP by VIA at ftp://downloads.viaarena.com/drivers/video/CLE266/clexf40038-bin.zip

There is a great howto at http://www3.sympatico.ca/howlettfamily/linux/knoppix_on_m10k.html to customize KNOPPIX for EPIA M10k.
