Post subject:  MCEUSB2 Remote 'OK' Button in Xine Not Working

First of all I must say R5F1 is the slickest install of this class of software i've ever seen.

Anyways to my problem. I'm using a fresh R5F1 install and am having a problem with my MCE remote that came with the PVR-500, its the RC6 remote with the SMK Manufacturing USB receiver. In the regular mythtv menus the directional buttons and center 'Ok' button work perfectly as well as all the other buttons. But in Xine the 'Ok' button has no effect in DVD menus, it just shows the playback position on the OSD and the UP and Down keys move through the menus but also cause the videos in the menus to play at half or 2x speed respectively until I hit play to resume normal play speed. The only way I can get a DVD to play that has a menu is to hit KP_Enter on my keyboard on the 'Play Movie' menu selection.

To get the remote to work, I did have to modify
Code:
LIRCD_ARGS=""
to
Code:
LIRCD_ARGS="-d /dev/lirc0"
in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf I dont know if this would have any affect on the Xine buttons operation.

I'm using the default lircrc file that the setup created so button 'Ok' is mapped to 'EventSelect' for Xine.

When I run irw it spits out the correct button label as 'ok'

The Keymap editor in xine was no help since it only assigns keyboard keypresses.

Any help is appreciated, this is the last thing yet to do till my system is 'perfect' :)

I am having the same problem, except with a Happauge silver remote for a 250. The remote functions normally for everything else; I just can't use "ok" in xine :/ . I did not have to edit anything to get my remote functioning.

While not running mythfrontend or Xine, does all your remote keys work with irw?
If so, have a look in /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc so check what entries apply to xine and if they have the correct key codes from /etc/lirc/lircd.conf. Also you may need to create a symlink to this file from /home/mythtv/lircrc .

Thank you for directing me towards that file. I simply edited some of the Xine-specific button configurations in there, and now my remote is behaving splendidly!

Ah, it turns out the R5F1 lircrc file for the MCEUSB2 is slightly different than what I saw in other posts. Changing the necessary bindings solved the problems. Thanks!
