hi guys, bit stumped here. Have managed to get the above card running with ndiswrapper - well, it can scan ap's and supposedly connects to my router (well it gets assigned an IP via dhcp and I can see its mac address in the router settings). However it can't do anything ie ping the router/google etc.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

i take it you are running encryption on your router you are trying to connect to. What have you done with wpa_supplicant so far?

I use the wg311v3 as well. And like you, I have got it up and running through ndiswrapper.

As jbman says - presumably you're running the network encrypted. have you set the encryption key and set the whole thing to kick in on boot?

Sorry for the delays in answering guys and thanks for replying

I get the following error at startup (which may have something to do with the problem) -

Code:
failed to connect to wpa_supplicant wpa_ctrl_open:connection refused
there is already a pid file /var/run/dhclient.wlan0.pid with pid 2732 removed stale pid file

my interfaces file is

Code:
iface eth0 inet dhcp

auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wpa-driver wext
wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

and the wpa_supplicant.conf file is

Code:
ctrl_interfaces=/var/run/wpa_supplicant

network={
  ssid="do one"
  group=TKIP
  pairwise=TKIP
  psk="xxxxxx"
  priority=5
  key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
  proto=WPA
}
