Now this sure is interesting. As I stated in another post, when my mythbox is plugged into my AV setup, no sound comes out (both with the onboard and with the SB Live! I am currently using). When I plugged in headphones, the sound is perfectly fine. Its not a matter of my AV setup being screwed up, for I know for a fact everything is hooked up perfectly. The mythbox is plugged into an AV switch, and the AV switch goes to my VCR, which has it's audio out going to my stereo. Every device connected to the switchbox works fine except the mythbox. I tested all the ports on the switchbox, and they are all fine. Anyways, here is another rather interesting clue. When the headphones are plugged in, the mythbox works flawlessly. When I unhook my headphones and hook it up to my AV setup, the remote stops functioning. Very very interesting..anyone have any input to solve my problem? |

Upon further investigation, it appears even with the AV system disconnected, the remote is not exactly "perfect". It still performs sluggish on occasion, then fine a few seconds later. This seems to be the regular problem everyone has, but the solutions that I've seen do not work. I upgraded IVTV to 0.10.3, and still no help either. Nontheless though, I still don't get sound when the AV setup is connected, only when the headphones are. Just for all to see how strange this is, I unplugged the audio cable from the mythbox, plugged it directly into my iPod, and the sound worked. Plugged it back into the mythbox, mute again. I unplug it from the mythbox, then plug my headphones in its place, there is sound. Like I said earlier, am I going crazy? EDIT: Problem solved. For some reason, MythTV was muting the SBLIVE volume in alsamixer. I told MythTV to leave mixing to an external mixer, unmuted it in the alsamixer, then told MythTV to control the volume again and it worked. Odd... |
