Post subject:	SOLVED: ATI 8.20.8 in R5F1 => Reinstalled R5D1
Hi, I'm trying to get ATI driver 8.20.8 to work in R5f1, because my IGP 9100 graphic in my Pundit-R doesn't work well with a newer driver-version. You only have a half of the picture then on TV eg. The problem is, that this driver version doesn't really work with xorg 7.1. Did anybody get this to run? Thanks!

Hi ... sorry but could not really help you, but maybe we will find a way together? My new, other system (not that one in signature) ... is a Elitegroup 915P-A V1.1 (P4 3.2MHz(?) with 512 MB DDR ... inside a nice ATI X300 ... newest Bios from boardmanufacturer. now I am using a fresh installed ... KnoppMyth R5F1 ... haveing some trouble - MMCONFIG Error ... solved with pci=nommconf - RNG ... not solved - VGA=normal in lino.conf first line ... but problems over problems with my X configuration ... ati driver installed (?) in xorg.conf ... after first boot there is only garbled picture on PAL TV connected ... no other monitor! but what about this scripts in /usr/local/bin ... install-r300-??? ... install-radeon-* ... they try to get some packages from debian repos ... but in R5F1 is based on sid but should we use stable? I get same problems with deps any updates on using ... today there's a new fglrc driver from ati maybe I will try ... why does knoppmyth us a newer more recent stable kernel? ok I know based on Knoppix Ok ... but I don't want to buy a nvidea card at the moment ... Reinstalled R5D1, frustrating, but working with ATI 8.20.8... If anybody has another idea upon this, I would be very interested

Hi ... new ATI driver 8.39.4 release notes (hope download will hit the mirrors in a few hours!) ... maybe I try it tomorrow if the weather is bad ... hope to get some progress ... Martin

Hi Cecil, i would test it for you, but the new ATI drivers don´t support my card any more That´s my problem... Maybe Martin could help you... -Jan

I'm including the 8.28.8 drivers as that version supports the most cards.

That's right, but this version doesn't work with my card, too. Using this driver breaks video on my TV, I only see 2/3 of the picture... See my post: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8750&highlight= Other people had those problems, too...
