Post subject:  Need help with Vizio VX32L HDTV10A under R5F1

I just bought the very cheap Vizio VX32L for the bedroom. So far I'm pretty impressed with the set. Everything is working except when I try to get the native resolution running.

I'm hooked up via the VGA port. When I configure X for 1366x768 @ 60Hz, it comes up fine and the TV reports the correct resolution. However, I get a virtual desktop where I can scroll around with the mouse... like X or the window manager does not think it can really handle that resolution or is giving me a larger resolution than I asked for. But the TV is indeed running at the correct resolution. What is the trick in getting X or the window manager to understand this resolution?

Thanks!

Well, I fixed this, but I'm not sure why. Removing all the other resolutions in the xorg.conf file seems to do the trick. Now the picture looks great... even though I'm using VGA and not DVI/HDMI.

I have only owned this set for two days, but assuming it does not die or lose lots of pixels in the next few months... I can highly recommend it for the price (I paid $605 with tax and all). Surprisingly, the audio is decent. So far a perfect bedroom HDTV.

Could you post your Xorg.conf file? Thanks, I have to remake mine for a Vizio 37".
