Ok - I'm going to try and document what I've been doing to get my VooDoo3 to work with the latest knoppmyth (This is VERY unorganized):

I've been working from:

http://www.realh.ukfsn.org/tvhowto/ar01s08.html

and

http://sarijopen.student.utwente.nl/cal ... l/patches/
------ Required Modules --------

First step (Which was done for a different reason) was to download the whole kernel. I'll let you figure this out since i don't remember what I had todo.

I then downloaded the patch from the second site and patched the kernel to support bt869. (Using the 2.6.18 patch since uname -r shows this version)

as per the first link I added the bt869 support into my config by running make menuconfig and browsing to the correct location to turn it on, then exited and ran the following command (I was lazy and only wanted the one)

make M=drivers/i2c/chips

I found my bt869 file in that directory and copied bt869.ko to:

/lib/modules/2.6.18-chw-13/kernel/drivers/i2c/chips

ran a depmod and modprobe bt869

------ XFree/Xorg Changes ------

I moved over to /etc/X11 and edited xorg.conf and added:

# PAL
ModeLine "640x480PAL" 29.50 640 675 678 944 480 530 535 625
ModeLine "720x576PAL" 27.50 720 744 800 880 576 581 583 625
ModeLine "800x600PAL" 36.00 800 818 820 960 600 653 655 750

# NTSC
ModeLine "640x480NTSC" 28.195793 640 656 658 784 480 520 525 600
ModeLine "720x480NTSC" 27.5 720 744 800 872 480 483 485 525
ModeLine "800x600NTSC" 38.769241 800 812 814 880 600 646 649 735

To the file. I commented out all the mode lines I didn't need (including the above PAL since I didn't have PAL.) I also needed to change the screen settings to use the new ModeLine.

------ Other ------

Downloaded and installed the following script into /bin and modified for NTSC and other settings, I also added two modprobes, one for i2c-voodoo3 and bt869:

http://sarijopen.student.utwente.nl/cal ... odoo3tv.sh

Set to run this on startup.

------ Crevits ------

I was unable to get composite output to work. A cheep S-Vid to Comp cable resolved that issue.
