Post subject: | Please Suggest A Good Remote |
Hi, I'm a poor college student who has a Leadtek 2000 XP Deluxe Card. The problem is that LIRC reads Multiple Buttons as the same code. IE: Pressing Stop while watching IRW outputs a certain string of data and pressing the number 2 outputs that exact same string. I'm fed up with all of the tinkering so I'm ready to buy an external remote. I have a serial port available if it needs to be used. Can anyone suggest a good cheap one that is very easy to get running (IE either use lirc-reconfig.sh or manually copy the two necessary files)? Thanks I appreciate your advice. |

cant go past streamzap. Its used in the dragon - and just works. Its not overly expensive - you might find something slightly cheaper .. but as you mentioned.. sometimes the extra 10 bucks is worth so as to not waste many hours. |

I concur on the Streamzap. However, if you have more than one Mythbox & want different remotes for them, Use a Firefly. You can run setup for Streamzap, it'll squawk not finding the Streamzap receiver, but it'll do it, setting you up for a USB remote. Then as you noted, manually sub in the lircd & lircrc files for the Firefly (Multiple places on the forum- search..) & you got it ! |
