I hope this isn't a really dumb question but I can't find the answer. I am having a hard time setting up lirc for my satellite reciever but, what I want is to be able to at least just hook up my reciever to my composite in on my hauppage card, I know that it works in Windows but for the life of my I can't figure out how to change my tuner to an input. There is no button on the remote that says input (its the hauppage silver gray dog bone.) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case anyone else has this problem, what I had to do is follow http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page ... vtv-0.10.0 but, I didn't load the firmware since it isn't a pvr150 its a WinTV GoPlus. (very similar).

WinTV Go appears to be an older style card which doesn't do the MPEG hardware capture.
In mythtv-setup Capture Cards, you need to set the device as Video4Linux (V4L). Then you set the default as (IIRC) Composite1 and in Input Connections you associate the Video Source created in Video Source with Composite1.

It might be worthwhile googling for the "Pamphlet of KnoppMyth" and "MythTV HOWTO".

What bruce_s01 said. The ivtv drivers are only applicable for Hauppauges PVR cards. This means PVR-150 and PVR-150MCE, PVR-250 and PVR-250MCE (non "Blackbird"), PVR-350, and PVR-500MCE only. Please see the IVTV wiki for a full list of supported cards - http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Supported_hardware

Anything not on their supported list needs to be configured as a different type of card. Some may not work at all such as the HVR1500 and HVR1600 cards.
