Post subject:  Channel changing wonky- many possible causes

Long story short:
My setup is currently a PVR350 connected via s-video in to a Motorola QIP6416-2 (which can also display directly on an HDTV.) I am using a CommandIR unit for remotes.

The PVR350 and Olevia HDTV remotes scanned fine and work with no issues.
The QIP6416 remote did not: irrecord was used and was only able to get RAW codes (this may be part of the problem?)

I am able to control the tv and Motorola STB from the console using irsend.

I can use a channel changing script to change channels on the STB FROM THE CONSOLE. (The ones included did not always work correctly but one from CommandIR does.)

MythTV works fine when I use the STB remote to select channels, but that is not sufficient, of course.

I can NOT get channel changing to work in MythTV.

When I try to change channels to a specific number (say 160) I may get 50, or 225 or something, but never what I had asked for.
This happens no matter what channel I try to get.

I really would like to get Myth running properly with this setup and it seems that I am very close-
But I am just now working with an external tuner for the first time and I don't know if the problem is with my MythTV config, the changer scripts or the fact that I can only get RAW codes for the Motorola STB.

Any help is appreciated.

In the Channel Editor in mythtv-setup (or MythWeb), have you put in the Frequency text box, for each channel, the number which you need to send to the STB to select that channel?

Man, I kinda thought I was missing something stupid....

I was right. ;)

Thanks Bruce- that did the trick indeed.

All I need to do now is get all the channels entered and corrected and I should actually be good to go.

Just a note- things area working now, for the most part.
The only issue now is that the STB I have uses RAW codes and that these don't seem so reliable.

2 digit channels seem ok, but 3 digit channels periodically screw up, especially if the channels have not been changed in a while.

There may BE no fix for this; I haven't found one.
