I think that it's time to upgrade my 2nd hard drive which contains the /myth partition. I would like to get better file deletion times because sometimes playback will stutter or die when files are deleted. So, which partition type should I use to get good file deletion times? I plan to use the entire disk for /myth. Are there any special commands for creating the partition or formatting the disk? Also, is migrating to the new disk as simple as copying the /myth partition from one disk to the other and then swapping the old drive out? |

Thanks. I was pretty sure that's what I needed to do. I'm also pretty sure that I followed the instructions when I originally set up the /myth partition using jfs but the mount command reports the following: /dev/hdc on /myth type ext3 (rw) Am I really using the whole disk as a ext3 file system or is there a better way to figure out my disk configuration? |
