Well I have the system almost up and running but I am having a real strange issue.

The system:
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard
1Gig of RAM
3ghz P4 processor (stock)
2 x pcHDTV 5500
1 x pcHDTV 3000
1 x Happauge PVR-250

So far I upgraded the system from a R5D1 pretty successfully. The only 2 outstanding issues are that I get no TV from the Happauge -250, and I haven't gotten around to fixing the iMon lirc so I can use my remote.

But the issue I am having since my upgrade to R5F27 is that I cannot reboot or power down my system. If I press reboot, the screen goes blank the HDD light goes on and it never actually reboots. If I press the reset button, the system doesn't do anything. I actually have to power down by pressing the power button. Now when I power up the machine, I am stuck again with the same problem. The HDD light is on, but the system won't post. So I repeat, and power down with the power button and a few seconds later power up and now the system works. This similar procedure is also the same with the power off command. Just to make sure it isn't the system, I tried booting from the knoppix R5F27 CD and rebooting or powering down, and it works normally. Only on my installed R5F27 system does this seem to be happening.

I am not really sure what the problem could be so I am hoping someone here might have a suggestion where I might start to look. FYI, this problem didn't affect the previous R5D1 install on the same system.

It looks like I solved the shutdown issue and maybe also the reboot issue. It seems rrd is the cause of the whole problem. I reran the script that asked if I wanted to run RRD and said no and I check to make sure there were no rrd processes running and when I powered down it worked. I'll give it a try again later.

Another weird issue came up with powering down the system. It seems to lockup powering down when using the mythfrontend "power off" function, but if I go to a xterm as root and type "shutdown -h now" it powers down properly.

Does anyone know what "power off" on the mythfrontend call? I think it is calling a script that uses halt rather than shutdown, I don't know why that would make a difference, but if I can just change a script that myth calls, I think that would solve my problem.

I have an Asus P5P800-SE motherboard and mbmon does not work with it. I have to use "sensors" to get info. I enabled rrd when I ugpraded to r5f27 and I noticed that sometimes mbmon, which was being called by rrd, would go into an infinte loop such down CPU. I resolved this by creating a wrapper so that rrd would call "sensors" instead of mbon for MOBO and CPU temps and fan speed...
