I'm running R5F27. I have a backend-only machine with a PVR-350, a PVR-150, and a pcHDTV5500. On the 350, the sound works after a reboot and then stops working some time after that. A reboot fixes the problem for awhile... Restarting the backend service does not. Any suggestions? I can check logs

I'm not positive, but setting up an alias for this card in udev may have resolved this issue. It's been going for much longer than before without any issues. I'll re-open this thread if it pops back up.

Well this happened again this weekend. My sound stopped working. What was really odd was that I rebooted the machine and it still wasn't working.. I then rebooted the machine yesterday and the sound started working again. Very odd behavior. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Here are the logs from the reboot and unsuccessful sound (video still works):

Potentially of note is that I am using udev for the video. Should I be doing something concerning udev for the audio as well? It looks like the PCM audio was assigned to /dev/video24 in both cases, so I wouldn't think that it is a problem, am I wrong?

I am haveing same problems , I have a 500 card and a 350 card.
Trying to build Ivtv 0.10 instead of 0.8 hope that will solve the issue.

Not sure what version of KM you're using haffi, but under R5F27 that _WILL_ break things spectacularly. Please see the warnings on this in the R5F27 hints.
If you want to experiment with other versions you need to stick to the 1.1.x branch or rebuild a large swath of other stuff to match because there are API changes between it and earlier versions.

Well, It looks like I've been hit by this one too.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that I swapped my PCI cards around in my system; either that or heat in my tower case.
Here is the order of the cards currently:
AGP ATI Radeon 8500DV, PCI Adaptec 3 channel SCSI RAID controller, SBLive, PVR350#1, PVR350#2, 3Com 3C905 revC-74, 3Com 3CR-990-TX-97
The 2 NICs are bonded for higher NFS thoroughput.
PVR350#2 is the only one that records audio with the video, and PVR350#1 records the video with no audio. If there is more info that you want me to provide, just ask.
Any ideas other than swapping around the PCI cards? Has this issue been resolved by anyone?

I'm still having this problem, and it's occurring more and more frequently... I used to go a week or two, have to reboot and it would work. Now, I rebooted last night and it happened in the middle of a recording the same night.
The frustrating thing is this is Tuner1, I suppose one solution would be to make it Tuner2 so it happens to less shows.
Can I look in any logs to see what might have happened? I don't see anything in mythbackend, messages, debug, daemon logs.
