Solution in the Last Post - I have been working on a couple of other issues, and have rebuilt my system a couple of times now.

I am now back to the working configuration I had before I started yesterday morning.

Everything works on the system as it did before I started except now I can't get lirc to work.

This is a PVR -150 with the included Remote and Blaster.
It was all working yesterday morning.

Anyway here is what I am seeing in syslog
During Startup:
Code:
Sep 29 09:16:26 mythtv kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
Sep 29 09:16:26 mythtv kernel: lirc_pvr150: ivtv i2c driver #0: no devices found
Sep 29 09:16:26 mythtv lircd-0.8.2-CVS-pvr150[2884]: lircd(all) ready

Then farther down the log I see:
Code:
Sep 29 09:16:39 mythtv kernel: cx25840 2-0044: loaded v4l-cx25840.fw firmware (16382 bytes)
Sep 29 09:16:40 mythtv lircd-0.8.2-CVS-pvr150[2884]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd
Sep 29 09:16:40 mythtv lircd-0.8.2-CVS-pvr150[2884]: could not get file information for /dev/lirc0
Sep 29 09:16:40 mythtv lircd-0.8.2-CVS-pvr150[2884]: default_init(): No such file or directory
Sep 29 09:16:40 mythtv lircd-0.8.2-CVS-pvr150[2884]: caught signal

This is in my syslog from one of my SBE's that is working:

Code:
Sep 29 09:50:21 mythtv_sbe kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
Sep 29 09:50:21 mythtv_sbe kernel: lirc_pvr150: chip found with RX and TX
Sep 29 09:50:21 mythtv_sbe kernel: lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0
Sep 29 09:50:21 mythtv_sbe kernel: lirc_pvr150: firmware of size 258140 loaded
Sep 29 09:50:21 mythtv_sbe kernel: lirc_pvr150: 654 codesets loaded
Sep 29 09:50:21 mythtv_sbe kernel: lirc_pvr150: Hauppauge PVR-150 IR blaster: firmware version 1.3.0
Sep 29 09:50:22 mythtv_sbe lircd-0.8.2-CVS-pvr150[2774]: lircd(all) ready

So I can see where the problem is starting and showing up in that first section with this line
Code:
Sep 29 09:16:26 mythtv kernel: lirc_pvr150: ivtv i2c driver #0: no devices found

I can't figure out what I may have done wrong. Thoughts on where I might look.

I need to get this resolved soon for the WAF to work..

TIA

Update:
Still no workie but here is what I tried now.

Since it seems to reside around the Capture Card and the IR Blaster attached to that.

I went back to the Hints and Tips and started at the point as if I had just rebuilt.

I killed all of my capture cards, then I shut all the boxes off.
I pulled power to them and went to do some other work for a couple of hours.

I returned, brought it back up and then installed the Cards in Mythtv-setup per the instructions.

I powered them down for a 5 minutes then brought everything back up.
Still same results as above.

I looked back in the syslog and it is telling me even before I added the cards it could not find the lirc device.

Anyway, I am still digging on this. I'll keep all informed.

TIA

FWIW Hardware in the Sigs below.

Solved!

I will have to go back and see if I can recreate the issue, but essentially it appeared to be a Bios setting.
I went back in and backed out all of the Bios settings I had made yesterday while trying to resolve the wild system time issue.

One of those seemed to have caused it to no longer recognize the lirc device.

I'll dig a little deeper and figure out which one as soon as I get through a recording cycle for one of my wood working shows.

Update, I plugged in my APC UPS cable into a USB port. when I cycled Power on the system the LIRC drivers goes back to the problem above.

I removed ths UPS cable from the MBE and cycled power on the MBE. It came back up and Lirc is responding fine.

So that appears to be the issue, now I will need to work on fixing that issue. Gonna be at least a week though.
