Last night I finally got around to installing R5F27 on my new hardware:

P4 2.6GHz Hyperthreading
Intel D865PERL Mainboard (Intel 865PE Chipset)
2GB RAM
250GB IDE auto installed
Intel Pro/1000 NIC
1xLeadtek Winfast TV2000XP RM
2xDvico Lite DVB Tuner
1xDvico Plus DVB Tuner
2x320GB SATA LVM for media

I have the digital cards working beautifully. By far the easiest install I have done. The Analog card though I am having trouble with. Testing in LiveTV all i get is a green screen with a bar of "snow" at the top.

"WinFast TV2000 XP RM"
http://www.leadtek.com/usa/tv_tuner/ove ... nameid=136

According to this page the card should autodetect to type=34 and tuner=5

http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.ph ... nFast_2000

my dmesg output says it is autodetecting correctly:

Code:
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:04.0[A] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
bttv2: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:02:04.0, irq: 17, latency: 32, mmio: 0xf07fa000
bttv2: detected: Leadtek TV 2000 XP [card=34], PCI subsystem ID is 107d:6609

bttv2: registered device radio0
bttv2: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 .. ok
input: bttv IR (card=34) as /class/input/input0

and further down..

bt878: Bt878 AUDIO function found (2).
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:04.1[A] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
bt878_probe: card id=[0x6609107d], Unknown card.

If i create an input connection to the "composite1" input on the card, and connect up a composite video source, I can see the picture in liveTV. From this I am assuming the BT878 chipset is working fine, but the tuner is having issues?

I only want to tune into one channel with this card, a local station called Bris31. In the channel editor, i have tried entering both its actual frequency in khz (548224) and entering "31" and neither has helped.

Can anyone help me out with this one?

Thanks

edit: i should mention that i have had a fair amount of experience with myth + DVB cards, but have never played with analog capture cards before, so i could well be missing something really obvious.

Try the configuration walk through on the BlackScreenWatchingTV page on the wiki.

Not sure if this is replated to my problem, but every time i reboot the machine it seems to detect my 2 analog capture interfaces in different order.

If i go into mythtvsetup and set a v4l capture card video0 as the winfast tuner, it works as described above.

next time i reboot however, "encoder 0" is missing from my list of encoders in the frontend. This is because video0 is now pointing to the analog capture portion of my "dvico fusionHDTV plus" card.

is there any way i can fix these so they dont change?

is it possible this problem is an interrupt conflict problem?

Sounds like you've got udev instability. Search for a thread here titled "udev sucks". There may also be something on the wiki.

well i think i have sorted my udev problem. I rearranged all my tuners into diferent PCI slots, readded them all in mythtvsetup and i now seem to be able to reboot without udev breaking stuff.

I am still no closer to getting the tuner card to tune though. I would really appreciate any suggestions!
