I don't believe you can get this remote to work with mythtv properly.

The remote comes with a USB dongle, that the kernel recognizes as a HID device (keyboard).

The IR dongle interprets the remote key push as a if you had press a key on the keyboard.
The problem is that some of the keys don't do anything and I can't find a way to remap them (Actually I think there is some way, but that would not resolve the missing keys issue.)

I think the serial version would work OK.

So unless someone knows of a way of getting the kernel to stop looking picking the device up so that lircd can use it.

I have discovered that I can get the remote to work as an lircd device and not the keyboard, you need to know what 'event' the dongle is using,


I have not gone any further with this as I have discovered that some the keys don't work anyway, I found is mention of soldering a resistor inside the remote which fix's some of the problems but not all.

I thought I might be able to use another remote with the dongle but that does not seem to work either.

So it is back to the drawing board on that one.

I too have this remote, labeled technisat. Its frustrating, but does 98% of what I need because I use it on my remote FE. I too have read about the soldering trick, I may try it one day.

The big thing its missing is an escape key. So I keep a keyboard plugged in for when I need to hit that key.
