Gang,

Well, I'm considering to upgrade the BE system to something that can handle three or four tuners and strap on some BIG 1TB drives to. The holidays are approaching, and I'm in the shopping mood!

Looking for a board on newegg, I tripped over this Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 board:

Has enough PCI slots for three tuners (Air2PC r02, Hauppauge 401, and another ATSC card in the future possibly a PCIe 1x card) along with a potential FTA Satellite tuner card.

Since the board has the Nvidia GeForce 6100, I saw a few threads on the board that this can do HD.

Top it off with 2 GB of RAM, and cool running AMD screamer...I figure it'll last me about 5 years, hopefully more!

Anyone else considering or using this board yet? Any comments good or bad?

I was considering the Gigabyte board before I picked up this one:

The Gigabyte looks very good and the on-board video and firewire is a nice bonus. I was looking for a board with lots of PCI slots. I picked up the Tforce 550 SE board since I got it for $40.

To followup on my initial query, I went ahead and purchased the board with an AMD 4800+ dual core 65w processor, and 2GB of ram. Still waiting for 1TB HD prices to fall. newegg has them at $269, but I'm hoping they go even lower!

If all goes well, I'll have it up and running next week, and let everyone here know how smooth the install is.
