I have the same problem with two nearly identical MythTV boxes. Live TV is fine on both systems. It's only when I record and playback that I have problems.

In recodings the audio is ahead by approx 0.17 seconds. It's off whether I I play back on the mythtv box or transfer the files (Original MPeg2 or MPeg4) to any other PC for playback using VLC.

I've googled the issue to death. It's been driving me crazy trying to manually correct my recordings with "mencoder -delay". But my efforts tell me that the delay is consistant from the beginning of the recording to the end. And the difference seems to be off by about the same amount from recording to recording on the same channel (slight variation by channel).

Motherboards: MSI K8MM3-V
Processor: AMD Turion MT-37 2Ghz
Memory: 2GB
Capture Cards:
- One has a single Hauppauge PVR-350
- The other has two Hauppauge PVR-350s.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? or some way I can correct this? I'd even consider buying new hardware if I could identify what piece is to blame.
- I have the RCA audio out from the PVR-350 routed into the 3.5mm Line-in on my motherboard.
- I do NOT have "TV audio through PVR-350 only" checked.
- I'm using alsamixer to unmute and raise the line-in volume
(and alsactrl to restore it on reboot).
- I have the speaker out of the motherboard going to my stereo receiver.

Problem solved. I didn't realize it but it's been working for over a week now. That was about the time I switched the codec used in the "Autodetect from" profiles.
