Post subject: | motherboard recommendation for an E6550 |
I have an E6550 that was given to me and I'm looking for a R5F27 friendly board with native 1333 MHz FSB support. The Dragon 2.0 uses the Intel DG965WH, but that board doesn't support the E6550 as far as I can tell. I think that chip needs the P35 or X38 chipset. Is there anyone in here running R5F27 with a "new" C2D (i.e. the 1333 MHz FSB ones like the E6530. E6550, E6650, E6750) chip? If so what MB (p35 or X38 maybe?) are you using and are you/did you experience any problems installing and using R5F27? Thanks all! |

You are correct. The CPU just won't work on that board. Ignore the claim that it will just switch to 833 MHz mode - not true. |
