Hello all

Sick of constant crashing with my windows XPMCE machine I am about to scrub the HDD and install Knoppmyth and take my first plunge into Linux. Can some one please tell me whether I'm likely to encounter problems with my system as it is?
I'm also keen to use two DVB-T cards, I currently have three to choose from, which of the two should I use?

System in current form....
MB: ASUS P5GDC Deluxe
CPU: Pentium4 3.00Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Video: Leadtek PX6600 TD
Sound: onboard (C-Media Hi Def audio device)
HDD: Samsung HD400LD
Remote: iMON RSC (actually just using it's receiver and driver with a Harmony 880 remote)
NIC: Marvell Yukon 88E8053 10/100 ethernet
Case: Antec (??)
DVB-T cards available:
1) DNTV Live! LP (not the Hybrid LP)
2) Dvico Fusion HDTV DVB-T Plus
3) Leadtek WinFast DTV2000H

Anyone see any problems/hurdles/mountains ahead for me?

Cheers

Graysky, Thanks for the clues.

Any thoughts on which of my current Tuner cards to select (or avoid), they seem to attract the most problems?

sean, youre in sydney.. me too :-)

manicmike has written script to make the program guide a milk run. his site has some tutorials. its http://www.better-access.com

you possible wont be able to use the ausdragon script.. but you can probably type "tv country=AU" (or something similar.. i forget commands very easily) at the boot prompt to get the epg working easily.. the tutorials will explain it better than i could.

best way to figure out if your tuner cards will work is to try. just leave em all in there. search the forum for your remote, and your tuner cards.. but to be honest.. it only takes 15 minutes to do the install.. so it's probably faster to just try yourself. if you run into problems, then search around.

Sorry dude, my experience with tuner cards is zero. I have a PRV-250 (capture card) that works out of the box with KM -- always has.
