I just purchased a athlon xp 2200 and want to upgrade. I'm not sure how smooth this is going to go with my current install. Will I have to backup and upgrade or can I just swap processors(config bios) and reboot? Thanks alot By the way R5F27 seems to be the best yet, stable and gives me a great picture. |

As long as your mobo and bios can handle the faster processor, you should be able to just swap them out. I've done it a couple of times and I'm definitely NOT a technie, at least not in this crowd. Just be careful taking the fan off the old cpu. Some have grease in between but some have a "tape" that is very sticky. |
