Wondering if anybody has this card working? I bought one recently to add optical out to my box. Can't seem to get it running. My Biostar Mobo has HD audio. In setup, I can choose between dsp and adsp. root@myvcr:/home/john# aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 1: ALC883 Digital [ALC883 Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 I ran alsaconf: It shows me two cards: the onboard intel sound, and non PnP legacy card. If I choose to setup the latter, it asks me which drivers to probe with. If I only choose the two creative options, it doesn't find anything. If I leave them all checked, it tries to setup the yamaha driver and fails. Any thoughts? Is this card too new for linux/knoppmyth? tks! |
