If you're about to select "I have no idea", try this first (as root): Code: cat /proc/cpuinfo

BTW Folks - If you have multiple KM machines, choosing your least capable box (rather than most capable) is probably the way to go here, since this is almost certainly related to Cecil's other poll about dropping support for the the i586. After all, if nobody votes i586 why should he continue to support it? AWTTW... |

That can't be true...I thought that the PentiumPro and Pentium 2, 3 and 4 chips were i686. The 'i586' applied only to the original Pentium I. Maybe some linkages to the exact definition and chip examples are in order. (I'm excluding EPIA boards, and the like.) FYI: MBE: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz SBE: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ FE: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ Other potential FE's: Pentium 3, 1GHz and Pentium 3 866MHz (SD ONLY) |
