Hi All,

I would like to get MythGame working for my 6 yr old. I was thinking of keeping it simple, pacman, space invaders etc. I do not have a game port in my front end, but I do have lots of unused USB ports :-) I was wondering if someone could recommend a USB game pad or joystick that is simple, easy to use and most important of all, will work when I plug it in.

Any suggestions? TIA.

I've used a cheap Wingman USB game controller in the past without any problems. Haven't played with it for a while, but it did just work.

I researched this a little while ago and came across several recommendations for the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, however I was really only looking at wireless controllers. I don't believe the rumble portion works under Linux but IMO that's not a big loss.

I haven't bought one yet (not quite ready for a new project) so take my recommendation with the appropriate amount of NaCl.

I have several cordless rumblepads, and they worked well. I can confirm that the rumble feature has never worked for me. I also haven't set them up after my last few upgrades out of laziness, so I can't comment on how well they work with the latest versions. I believe cecil has a couple of them though, so I'd imagine they're always going to work with knoppmyth.

Another vote for the Logitech, works a charm. Setting up Mythgame exactly how you want it takes a little while, but persevere.. my son loves it, so I'm sure your 6yo will too.

Be sure to report back how it works. I'm pretty sure there is a Logitech Rumblepad in my future (if I can ever find the time).
