Anyone had any experience with this board. I think it would make a great diskless FE board.

It has all the bells and whistles that you would ever want on a front end.
The thing that worries me is the UniChrome Pro II video decoder. I know others have hit a brick wall on other projects with this hardware. IE(minimyth)

Any info good or bad would be appreciated.
According to the drivers page http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pa ... bCatID=171
it looks like it should work with the debian core of knoppmyth just fine.

You might want to look at the openchrome (www.openchrome.org) driver. Not sure how it works its way into Knoppmyth but there have been, in the past, accomodations made for Epia boards.

i dont mind if i need to install those drivers. I don't ask that it be a part of knoppmyth unless the community thinks its a good idea. Just wondering if anyone has installed one and verified if the drivers work and if the HD playback is flawless or not.

Dont want to buy one if there are playback or compatability problems.

You might want to check this thread out. it's not the same EPIA board but has a Unichrome video decoder.

How much is this board?

Though not as flexible as building your own computer the AppleTV appears to be a good front end for HD. $230.
