Hi All, Does knoppmyth support the Hauppage Nova-s2-HD? I can't find any specific information about it on the forums. I am interested in picking up the new UK Freesat HD channels (BBC HD and ITV HD) and am trying to find a card that will work well in both linux and windows as well as being future proofed for when everything goes to the S2 standard. I might be wrong about this, but I think S2 support in linux is still a bit iffy. According to the LinuxTV Wiki, that card is listed under 'experimental support', although it does say not to be scared by this! Whether the linux dvb drivers included in R5.5 have this support included though I don't know! Then of course there is the question of MythTV support. I think I have seen some messages on the dev list regarding patches for this, but I don't think this has made it into 0.21-fixes yet! (http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/5403) So I think in theory it might be doable, but may be quite tricky to set up, and you will probably have to recompile stuff. Let me know how you get on though, because I am looking to do exactly the same thing once I get the update to 5.5 out the way! |
