I'm doing a dry run of installing R5.5, and for some reason my PVR 500 can't see channels higher than 13 Ie the UHF channels, all I get is static. I haven't changed my SD lineup since R5F27, and all the data shows up correctly in my program guide, but when I go to watch the channel it only gets static.

Any ideas?

Edit: FYi I have Comcast analog cable, and my tv can view the channels just fine from the same cable, so it's definitely something to do with the mythbox.

You have your tuner set to broadcast rather than cable.

Go into mythtv-setup, General, and change the Channel Frequency Table from us-bcast to us-cable.

Alright, so after thinking about this for a few minutes I figured it must be a problem with the configureation, since the card obviously works for some channels. Turns out that in the general settings of mythtv-setup it was set to broadcast frequencies instead of cable, hence being unable to find the "uhf" channels. After changing that setting everything seems to work.

Thanks for the reply, you're exactly right.

Now there's an FAQ we haven't seen in a while. On the other hand if things run true to form we'll get it a dozen times over the next couple weeks... :?

FWIW this is also covered on the troubleshooting pages on the wiki, http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=TroubleShooting, especially the configuration walk through on this page http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=BlackScreenWatchingTV
