Just picked up an Optoma HD65 projector, I have it going from my Nvidia 6200 graphics card through DVI via a conversion cable of DVI to HDMI. Just wondering if anyone else out there has this projector or a similar 720p projector. Just tried to find some good custom modelines for this projector with no luck. Anyone have this projector? If so, what modeline are you using through HDMI? I would love to pixelmap. Thanks.

I made a modeline for my friend's Mitsuibishi 1280x768 projector. I see yours is a 1280x720, so it's not exactly the same, but close.

Here are the modelines I tried during the tweaking process. You can tweak an existing modeline to get what you need for 1280x720.

I started with the 720p modelines from this page:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Modeline_Database

I also used a modeline calculator llike this:
http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl
to get me close to a correct custom value, and then started altering values until I got the image to fit on the imaging chip in the projector.

You can tell from the list, that I would tweak one value, restart xorg, look at the results and then tweak another value, etc.
I settled on version "s" at the bottom of the list.
Code:
    ModeLine       "ATSC-720-59.94p" 74.2 1280 1320 1376 1650 720 722 728 750 -hsync -vsync
    ModeLine       "ATSC-720-60p" 74.2 1280 1320 1376 1650 720 722 728 750 -hsync -vsync
    ModeLine       "1280x768-a" 79.5 1280 1344 1472 1664 768 771 778 798 -hsync -vsync

Cool, thanks.

Also, what image did you use to tell if the image was fitting on the projector's image chip? How do you do this?

I used the 1280x720 test pattern from here:
http://www.tigerdave.com/test_patterns.htm

specifically:
http://www.tigerdave.com/images/testpat ... erscan.gif

I put the test pattern into the Mythtv Image Gallery and then brought up the image so it was full screen. Then, I kept changing the modeline variables until all 4 corners were on the screen.
