I have a streamzap that worked great in the past. When I upgraded to 5.5 it worked fine for about two weeks and then stopped. I have rebooted, unplugged the reciever...used a different receiver and no luck. When I searched through /var/logs I found nothing. Any ideas?

Below is a sample of my logs

Hate to ask the very obvious, but are the batteries known to be good?

Wih the benefit of knowing 0% about the streamzap gear, i thought i'd post anyway just incase. My remote worked 100% in R5F27, but intermittently in R5.5... was due to udev, and random assignment of ID's on boot. Could it be caused by anything like that? New cards in system, changing ID's?

Probably not, thought i'd try to help though

Nathan

As another point of reference, I've had no problems with my Streamzap in R5.5.

Originally as an upgrade from R5E50, then a clean R5.5 install (after a complete hard drive failure).

I double checked my batteries and know they are working because I can see the LED in the IR receiver blink when I push a button. How to I go about checking if the udev id is the issue?

My system is a fresh 5.5 install. I did add new hardware when I initially installed but the streamzap worked after the initial install. It stopped working several weeks later without any hardware changes.

That's not a good test. The receiver will blink unless the batteries are absolutely dead. Try a fresh set of batteries.

Ok...everyone can call me stupid...It was the batteries. I made the bad assumption that if the receiver was blinking that the batteries were good. Thanks for the tips..

You aren't stupid: Everyone would have thought like you did.
