Gday, was just wondering if anyone knew how well external hardrives preform with mythtv. I was looking at getting a wd 500gb external harddrive to store all my movies and music on and plug it into my mythtv box. Its connected via usb. Will this be fast enough to whatch movies and listen to music through? Should i be going the intenal hardrive route? |

It will work fine if you have USB 2.0 on the machine. I have a external WD 500 GB drive on one of my desktop/ mythv frontends and it plays media files just fine from the drive. |
