Sometime between Monday and Tuesday my PCHDTV5500 stopped working... I have checked the logs and found the following, is it of concern?: Code: 2008-11-18 18:58:21.594 TVRec(3): Changing from None to RecordingOnly
2008-11-18 18:58:21.636 TVRec(3): HW Tuner: 3->3 2008-11-19 18:59:21.644 DVBChan(0) Warning: Symbol Rate setting (0) is out of range (min/max:5056941/10762000) 2008-11-19 18:59:21.648 DVBSignalMonitor(0)::constructor(3,Warning, can not measure Signal Strength): Remote I/O error 2008-11-18 18:58:21.815 Started recording: House "Emancipation": channel 3101 on cardid 3, sourceid 3 2008-11-18 18:58:21.910 scheduler: Started recording: House "Emancipation": channel 3101 on cardid 3, sourceid 3 It is just recording "blackness" for the duration of the show. I didn't change anything between Monday and Tuesday, but Heroes recorded fine and House didn't... Any help is appreciated. Multiple backend restarts have not fixed the issue. |

It's saying that the tuner has ID of 3. Do you have three of them? Alternatively, have you deleted and re-detected the tuner/s? Either way, I would: 1. Stop the backend (alt+2) 2. Start mythtv-setup (alt+s) 3. Try a channel scan. If this fails, Continue. If it works, continue at 5... 4a. Delete your listed tuners. 4b. Add them back. 4c. Scan for channels on each of them and note the activity. 5. Quit setup and Restart backend (alt+3) You should be able to watch TV now, but whatever happens, post the results of what you do. Mike |

I have never successfully done a channel scan, was it changed in R5.5 to work better? I am connected to Cable and I have always manually programmed the database with the frequencies per the instructions here: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Ad ... uner_Cards Yes, I have 3 tuners. |

Per my sig, I AM still running R5F27. Maybe this is my impetus to finally upgrade to R5.5... |

One of my two PVR-150 TV cards will stop working every now and then. bummer. Dropping the cards and reselecting them seems to solve the problem. Version R5.5. Just to have to keep an eye on it. Would be nice to have some script to detect a 0 size file to warn me... |

I'm in the process of troubleshooting this more, and it seems more weird to me. I haven't yet done any of the recommendations yet because I haven't been able to get into the gui on my backend to run mythtv-setup. However, I was able to diagnose that my PVR350 has apparently gone bad (I even tried moving it to a new PCI slot). Once I removed the 350, I was able to finally "Y" into my HD tuner on my frontend. What's odd is that is says it detects a signal but the screen is black... I even moved this card to a new slot and observed the same behavior. Would re-installing the card in mythtv-setup fix this problem? It seems more like a driver issue, or that this card has failed as well... |

Yes, try dropping all inputs in mythtv-setup and reselect them again. This worked for my intermittent problems. |

I got the card working again. It took a scan of channels, and a bit of database hacking to get the xmltvids over to the newly scanned channels, but at least it's working. I'm still running r5f27, but I installed r5.5 on a new HD while troubleshooting and I am playing with the thought of upgrading this weekend. |
