I have a 1200MHz PC with 512M of RAM and a Hauppauge PVR150.
I installed Knoppmyth R5D1 and could watch live TV fine and the recorded programs too. Recently I upgraded to 5.5 and now the video is
very slow. So slow and often pixelated that MythTV is basically unusable.
Are there some simple config files I can just RESTORE from the R5D1 backup? If so which files? Otherwise any pointers would be great! I have searched for PVR150 and 5.5 but found nothing useful after many pages.
I've checked the log files for clues per the guide
http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CheckingLogFiles
Only dmesg showed something significant:
Code:
ivtv0: Cause: the application is not reading fast enough.
ivtv0: All encoder MPG stream buffers are full. Dropping data.
<repeat this 100 times>
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
top showed this while I was watching a recorded show:
Code:
CPU 95.6%us
Mem: 502M used 8M free
Swap: 80K used 760M free
86% Xorg
13% mythfrontend
.3% mysqld
...
Thanks for Knoppmyth - until now I've had no problem that I couldn't correct using these forums.
FWIW:
dmesg | grep tuner
tveeprom 1-0050: tuner model is TCL 2002N 5H (idx 99, type 50)
