I have a Knoppmyth 5.5 system that has been plugging away great for several months. I have 3 tuners (HDHomerun and 1 PVR-250). I have captured video on the PVR-250 for months. Suddenly I noticed that I am getting snow for all the recordings of the PVR250 Tuner.

When I run:root@mythtv:/home/mikemcc11# v4l2-ctl --log-status

I get :

Status Log:

What does:
saa7115 1-0021: Input: Composite 4
saa7115 1-0021: Video signal: bad
mean?

I tried : v4l2-ctl --set-input=0

and I get the same thing.

What does the video signal - bad mean?

This happens to me every now and then. Try this.
1) reboot
2) drop all your capture cards (mythtv-setup)
3) add and assign them again.
So far (knock knock) this has worked for me.

Before doing that try turning the machine off stone cold for a couple minutes (switched off at the power supply or unplugged).

Every several months one of my PVR cards loses it marbles and it takes forcing the firmware to reload like this to bring it back to sanity.
