Hi Guys,

I have a USB I/R receiver from my Twinhan visionplus card which I believe acts as a USB keyboard. Is it possible to use my Logitech Harmony 525 remote with this ?

I setup the harmony with the Mythtv (knopp) settings , the I/R receiver flashes when i press a key on the remote but nothing is happening.

Do I need to re-configure LIRC ?

Thanks in advance

If you want to use the Twinhan remote, have a look at Adam Pierce's excellent tutorial at http://www.doctort.org/adam/nerd-notes/mythtv-and-the-twinhan-remote.html
I followed this and had the thing working beautifully. Great little remote actually: Suffers less from light interference than the Streamzaps I sell. Only annoyances are the difficult config and lack of sufficient buttons.

Thanks mike. I have used the twinham remote but really wanted to use the harmony with the I/ R USB receiver that comes with the twinham. Do you know if this will work ?

No, sorry. Just know the Twinhan's remote can be made to work with lirc as a non-keyboard.

Following your link Mike I looked up Adam's article and he has setup the receiver as a LIRC device, thus I beleive that superkrusty may be able to use the IR receiver.

I use my Twinhan receiver as a keyboard substitute, but old mate Adam at http://www.doctort.org/adam/general/update-on-twinhan-remote-for-mythbuntu-810.html doesn't.

Could I suggest superkrusty that you try and setup the Twinhan remote receiver as in the linked article, it should then just be a matter of setting up the correct LIRC.conf file.
