Post subject:  Lost key mapping for ATI Remote Wonder

I was having the double command problem and I used the solution "ATI Remote Wonder Fix for R5.5" (see http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=ATI+Remote+Wonder+Fix+for+R5.5) and applied it. This fixed the double commands being issued but I lost my key mapping. I confirmed that my original lircrc file was still in /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc

The current mapping is driving me nuts!!!!

Does anyone have a fix?

Thanks.

The fix you applied removed lirc and installed the Kernel module.

This means you'll need to create a custom xmodmap and set it to run at startup so the system knows how to interpret your keypresses.

Search the forum for instructions on creating and running a custom xmodmap. I've included my default xmodmap below... it seems to work pretty well (although, it is different from the lirc default settings).

Code:
! STOP
keycode 9 = Escape
! PLAY
keycode 179 = p
! OK
keycode 36 = Return
! PAUSE
keycode 110 = p
! MUTE
keycode 160 = bar
! PLAYRECORDINGS
keycode 159 = F8
! POWER
keycode 222 = Escape
! VIDEOLIST
keycode 151 = F7
! VOLUMEUP
keycode 176 = bracketright
! VOLUMEDOWN
keycode 174 = bracketleft
! MENU
keycode 158 = M
! LOADCOMMSKIP
keycode 140 = Z
! CLEARMAP
keycode 41 = Q
! RECORD
keycode 177 = R
! ASPECTRATIO
keycode 146 = W

Thanks for the tip s1148625. I had to rebuild my frontend so I am back to the original lirc right now. At first it looked like the double key presses went away but it came back when I installed the video driver for my ATI Rage 128 video card. This may just be a coincidence.

I see that the LIRC installed with KnoppMyth 5.5 is version 0.7.0 (according to lircrc.conf). Has anyone had the double key press problem and upgraded to the latest version of LIRC 0.8.4a)? Did it fix the problem?
