Anyone who may have been waiting for the HD-PVR to have IR blasting capability may not have to wait too much longer. |

Did this make it into R6 final? The local dealer has the 1212 on sale and I'm damn tempted to pick one up, but I have to do IR-blasting to my digital cable STB to use it. If it works with R6 that'd surely be the clincher! |

The HD-PVR is supported (officially) by MythTV version 0.22 and above. 0.21-fixes is the default mythtv version for R6, but you can always take a swim in choppy seas by installed the mythtv-svn package, which provides 0.22. Keep in mind you may not be able to revert back to 0.21-fixes once you install 0.22 due to changes in the database. Read the mythtv mailing lists at gossamer-threads for more info on 0.22. If you can wait, mythtv-0.22 is supposed to be "released" anytime now. |
