I just "acquired" an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro (256MB) PCI Express 16x video card. I am wondering if anyone knows how it will work with the latest LINHES? I am getting ready to do some minor upgrades and do a fresh install and thought I may use this card instead of my older nVidea FX 5200. I searched the WIKI and the forum and couldn't find much information other than ATI doesn't have the best Linux support. |

We include the multiple drivers for ATI, this includes the experimental Radeon HD drivers for the r5/600 chipsets. Unfortunately, I'm not up to snuff on Radeon performance wish. Code: pacman -Ss radeon

Does that command install the drivers or just show that they are available? I have R6 installed with this video card and it's working good. The only issue I am having is when watching live TV when I bring up the TV Listings it chokes pretty hard. It keeps flashing between the live TV and the guide. Not sure if this is a video card issue or a config issue. I have 2 GIGs of RAM. |
