I'm going to pick up a new tuner card as my HVR-1600 cant pick up much OTA. My TV, DVD recorder, and CECB all show around 80% signal strength. I got my 1600 when they first came out and never could pick up OTA ATSC decently so had just been using it in NTSC mode. I upgraded the antenna last summer when the FCC reduced broadcast power in this area, went from 70's to 60's %, which got me into solid 80's%. so I tried the 1600 on OTA ATSC again and still got nothing you could enjoyably watch ![]() I'm looking at the dual tuner HD homerun but that means rewiring the antenna and the network. An internal tuner would be easier for me. |

IF you can find still them.... The Pinnacle 800i is a great PCI (not PCI express) tuner card. I'm using two of them at the moment along with two old Air2PC ATSC cards. The 800i's capture much better with a weaker signal. Search eBay...That's where I got mine. |
