Hi,
This looks like a very interesting project.
I have been struggling with MythTV and Redhat for some time now and although there are several very good how-tos available I've never quite found the right incantations!
Anyway to my question:
Will Knoppmyth work without a TV tuner card? By that I mean will it throw up all sorts of errors.
I want to use the box mostly as a music jukebox with a web front end and Myth looks like the best option. (any other suggestions are always welcome). I am running a Via EPIA M9000 which at the moment only has a 40GB disk in it so not much room for video anyway.
What do you think am I wasting my time? I have been looking at Mini-Myth but this is a front end only.
Steve

Hi again,
I just read this on the Knoppix forum:
Quote:
MythTV documentation wrote:
If you've got a system with an AMD K6-2 or a VIA C3 processor, make the following change in the settings.pro file.

Look for
-march=pentiumpro
and replace it with
-march=i586
before you compile.
Recent AMD processors, like the Duron, Thunderbird and Athlon don't need this change.

Does this mean that I can't use my M9000 with its VIA C3 processor at all?

Hello,

It means you'll have to recompile. If you want a jukebox try doing a search on freshmeat. You'll find other(if not better) options since all you want it a jukebox.
