Hi, I've been thinking about getting parts for a mythtv box. It costs about $450 ($50 more than if I just bought a 40hrs tivo with product lifetime service). It appears to me that installing knoppmyth is easy, however, the tuner card i would be using (wintv pvr-350) is a pain to setup. I am no expert to linux and would just like to get it setup as easily as possible. With the following setup, how easy is it to install

AMD 2600+
PC-Chips M863G SiS motherboard
256mb DDR 333mhz
integrated video/sound
WinTV pvr-350
80 gig harddrive (how many hours would this record at highest quality?)
400watt power supply

TV out on the 350 can be difficult... Why are you posting again with what is essesntially the same question? XSecret and I already expressed our opinion.

It's not easy to install especially if you are not familiar with Linux. It's going to take some time, some patience and trial and error to get the TV out on the 350 working. If you are not willing to do that then go buy a Tivo and hope that that will make you happy. It took me a while to get the TV out on my 350 running but it was worth it, the machine is very stable and it has a great picture.
