Hello. I am using onboard audio, which is an AD1855 (according to alsamixer). The trouble is the volume level on the line out jack is very low when connected to my tv's rca audio inputs. My current workaround is to run the cable around to the front of the case and connect it to the headphone jack. I believe the problem relates to the output impedence of the audio outputs. According to the AD1855 datasheet, the output impedence of the line out and headphone jacks are 800 ohms and 32 ohms respectively.

Does anyone have a different or better solution? Is there a simple impedence matching circuit that will fix this (so I can use the rear, line out jack)? What is the impedence of a TV's rca audio inputs?

Thanks,
Richard

Well, I think I may have answered my own question. It looks like the HiFi-Link by Xitel (www.xitel.com) would be a good option. It seems to have its electrical outputs tuned for stereos. Has anyone tried one of these USB audio adapters with knoppmyth? I think I'll have to suffer for a while with my headphone jack before spending another $50. :)
