Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for new motherboards and chipsets with no issues.

I have had no problems with my chaintek 7nif2 motherboard. it's the nforce2 chipset with onboard sound, lan, and video (including tv-out), and all of these work "out of the box' in knoppmyth. Several people with nforce2 chipsets have complained about lockups unless they turn of A(something sorry I don't want to mix up the middle two letters like I often do) support, but I have not had that issue my box is rock solid with 1 pvr250 and 1 leadtek 2000 delux (software tuner). It may just be that I'm lucky to avoid the lockup problems, but seems like most of the poepole who have them have asus nforce based boards. (I'm not trying to start a flame war just making an observation) and I haven't seen anyone suffering this problem with the chaintek 7nif2, although I haven't heard of too many people using this board.

spam01 - it is not as simple as just choosing a motherboard with mythtv. As Xsecrets said, he has had not problems with the chiantek 7nif2 board. I on the other hand had a terrible time with this board
(same setup - WinTV2000XP). We could not get it to work with Knoppmyth at all (the developer and I) after numerous attempts. The board I use is an Asus A7N8X-VM board - it works flawlessly. But, as Xsecrests says he has had no problems with the same board I had them with.

To sum it up, the board is only one part of the equation. I am sure my memory had an effect on my incompatabilities (although I used high end approved memory). Just make sure you buy your stuff from a place that accepts returns - you might need to switch out if you come into troubles. I recommend newegg.com.

Good luck!
