Post subject: | No sound from WinTV GO (BT878) |
I am not getting any sound from the lineout on my TV tuner card, I ran scantv and did get sound then while it was scanning, but have never gotten any sound from it otherwise. If this has been covered please forgive me, I did search this forum and all I found for "no sound" issues were all relating to the PVR250&350 and none seemed directed at the low budget WinTV GO cards. I am a total newbie when it comes to MythTV, I do know my way arround linux a little, but fairly basic there. The sound card may or may not be working (looks like it is, but I havnt tested) but at this point I want to figure out why the line out on the tuner isnt working. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Specs: Gigabyte GA7ZXR Mobo (OB Sound, OB Raid) - 1Ghz T-Bird 512Mb PC133 RAM (1x512) 40Gig 7200Rpm Seagate Matrox G450 Dual Head (has TV out if i can find the cable) Cheap WinTV GO Mono Tuner (probed as BT878) |

might need to make sure the card and tuner type are right for your card, sorry I do not know what the wintv go is supposed to be. |

Before going to the PVR250s, I had the same card. Run alsamixer and make sure the volume on your selected capture device isn't muted. Also make sure your input is selected for capture. Hope that helps, if not post the results and someone else may have more ideas. Gonz |

Hope that helps, if not post the results and someone else may have more ideas. Gonz I actually did just that (two days before reading this, I was just coming back to post success) IT WORKS, WOOT!!! Now I just need to get the 2nd head (tv-out) on my Matrox G450 working, but that is a battle for a different weekend. ![]() |
