I bought one of those digital output daughter boards for my SB Live couple yrs ago. It works like a charm without any configuration. I just plug it in, no changes to anything, and I have total surround.

my chaintech motherboard is one of the newer ones that doesn't include an SPDIF header. Can any body point me to a cheap and mythtv-friendly card which features digital out (preferably optical out). I would also be interested in finding out what is involved to get optical out working. Am I correct in beleiving that I can use this optical out for all of my sound( 2 channel music, 2 channel TV, 6 channel DVD etc...)? Adrian |
