Post subject:  Occasional flicker every few seconds - comes and goes?

Ok... After weeks of playing around with it and reading LOADS of forum posts, I believe I have my MythTV box working pretty well.

I'm using a GeForce 4 TI 4600 card and outputting video through the DVI port to an RCA 51" projection TV.

One thing I have noticed, but it seems to come and go - is occasionally, it starts flickering once every few seconds or so while watching live TV. Most of the time when this happens, it seems like I can make it go away by pressing buttons on the remote to skip back a few seconds, and then forward again.

I'm using the latest nVidia drivers and my motherboard is an MSI 845 Ultra ARU with a Pentium 4, 1.8Ghz CPU and 512MB of RAM, and I also have the Hauppage PVR-250 board installed -- so I don't think this is an issue of my system being too slow.

My searches don't really turn up any discussions that sound like they're describing this exact issue. Has anyone else run across this? (When it does flicker, it almost looks like it's flashing/superimposing a ghost image of a frame drawn a couple seconds earlier on top of the current one. That's the only way I know to explain it.)

Also, I have noticed a couple messages in the logs about "spurious interrupt on IRQ 7", as well as having seen the "spurious interrupt" mesasge pop up on top of the bar graph that Knoppix Myth was drawing on my display when it was first copying files off the ISO image during installation. Is this normal/harmless, or could it explain my flickering issue??

Thanks in advance for any input!
Tom

You can ignore the spurios errors. Try a newer version of the ivtv drivers.

You should be able to find past messages about that problem. It's a known ivtv driver/firmware issue. I haven't noticed it in a really long time so I either managed to fix it or just don't even notice it anymore. ;-)

I'm running ivtv-0.1.10-pre2-ck100z and possibly different PVR-250 firmware than came with Knoppmyth. Looks like it may be from pvr250_18_22037.exe but according to http://ivtv.writeme.ch/tiki-index.php?page=FirmwareVersions that isn't any different from the stock MythTV version.
