There is tonnes of information on here for Epia boards + PVR 250's + 350's.. Most of it in Pieces and chunks and doesn't all relate to a paticular version of KnoppMyth.. I have played around with alot of things that didn't end up working very well... I am not that interested in getting TV out using the PVR 350 as you loose smooth playback on Mythvideo and Mythgame(Unless I missed something)..

Can someone suggest a path to take that works for them? How is the success rate of V5 it would seem that most people running this hardware configuration are still on V4.1...

Thanks in advance.

Still going over the install... Right now I am Just getting a black screen and the frontend hangs when I goto live TV... The only Odd things in the logs are :

mythtv kernel: ivtv: i2c client addr: 0x61 not found!

and in the backend log

2004-11-17 20:28:16 Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
Error getting format
VIDIOC_G_FMT:: Invalid argument

Going through everything to see what I can dig up on whats happening.. I post what I turn up..

Doing not bad... have it down to a truner issue... Only getting Static when watching TV... Looking into that now...

Did a few things diffrent from that how-to... compiled a kernel with dma built in instead of a module.

Didn't redirect /dev/video to /dev/video3

Also instead of aliasing char major-81-0 via_v4l_drv i aliased it to ivtv

I should have the tuner type set properly... its 44 right now... and I have had it capturing before set as 44... so thats not my problem.. seems to be something wrong tuning.

buckaboobob,

I am trying to setup R4V5 with the same hw (M10000 & pvr350). I also am interested in getting video out through the motherboard video controller (for now... pvr350 tv-out would be my later challenge). I also am getting weird and random behaviour from my box. Mainly snow but with some audio. I cannot change channels, though, even though I get the OSD indicating the channel I should be on with the title of the program I should be seeing.

What parameters did you use in /etc/modules.cong?

Thanks!

http://tavor.net/MiniMyth/howto.html

This is by far the way to go... as the epia motherboards have thier own mythtv dist as there are not many diffrentences (Just options that are available or not (very few exceptions))

Sorry it took so long to get back to ya... Been busy with Xmas and all... Let me know how your making out..

Currently I broke my Front/back end apart and am moving to diskless for the front end and moved the capture card to the backend as the m10000 cpu takes too long to flag commercials and transcode ect... picked up a junkie 733 PIII for the back end (only draw back is the lack of a 48bit LBA for drives > 136gig which i have a few of... so over I am going to upgrade my Gaming PC (Long overdue still running a Athalon XP 1800+)..
