I have a D-link 520 wireless card that works great under Mandrake (doesn't work out-of-the-box on RedHat) using the Orinco.pci driver. Since adding a PVR250 to my existing 401 this past weekend (frontend and backend on the same machine), I've been getting a lot of segfaults in both Myth 0.12 and 0.13. They occure frequently when both cards are recording, and I try and watch the recording mpg-2 stream. Or, if I am watching a show and I mark it to record, exit to the menu, then hit watch live tv (on the 401). It seems to do great if I leave it alone and let it record and watch after it finishes, but if I attempt to watch a recording stream, it is hit-or-miss.

I haven't seen anyone else on the myth-user list complaining about these issues, so I'm guessing it is my setup. So, I'm considering moving over to KnoppyMyth, but I want to make sure my wireless card is supported and isn't difficult to set up, including wep (must have, I got bandwidth robbers around me) - can't get the listings without it.

Else, I'll compile w/ debugging and let everyone tell me what I've done wrong.

Thanks

It should be supported with the linux-wlan-ng which I believe is in the default install of knoppmyth. not sure if it will autodetect and setup or not, but setting it up shouldn't be hard.

I think it should be supported by the prism2_pci driver not the orinoco_pci driver, at least my netgear pci card will work with either of those, but the prism2 driver that goes with the linux_wlan_ng project is MUCH more stable.

Either works. The Orinico driver is trying to work for most cards. For some reason Mandrake packages it, rather than both. But it works well for me. I'll have to d/load KnoppyMyth tonight and give it a whirl.

thanks

yeah on my netgear card both drivers will work, but I always had problems with the orinoco driver, but the prism driver works much better for me and it's the one most debian based distros tend to use.
