I stood up a KnoppMyth box a couple of days ago, and found out my PCTV Pro remote wasn't supported. I grabbed the latest lircd-0.7.0 and built it, using pinsys and ttyS0 as the configuration parameters, but I still can't get the reciever to get data from the remote. The receiver is brand new out of the bag and the remote has new batteries.

The only potential bugaboo is that I did an apt-get upgrade on the system, and so it's not stock. I'm able to pull the channel guides down and schedule recordings so that's working.

Ideas? I've spent a day pouring over the KnoppMyth, MythTV and LIRC sites trying to find an answer. I know the config file may be an issue, but neither irrecord or irw can get data. KnoppMyth sees the serial port, so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.

are the proper modules loading? I have no Idea what module your card uses, but for instance I know my old winfast card had to have the lirc_gpio module loaded.

Just uses the standard /dev/ttyS0. I check the code and it sets the baud at 1200, and I can see that from:

cat /proc/tty/driver/serial

serinfo:1.0 driver:5.05c revision:2001-07-08
0: uart:16550A port:3F8 irq:4 baud:1200 tx:0 rx:16587 brk:15951
1: uart:16550A port:2F8 irq:3 baud:9600 tx:2 rx:1 brk:1

The lirc_dev module is loaded but unused, and /dev/lirc is a link to /dev/ttyS0.
