I have KnoppMyth installed and sort of working. Audio is patched from the line-out of the WinTV card into the sound input on the mobo. Output from the mobo analog port is in sync with the video being played. Audio on the SPDIF output is 2-3 seconds faster than the video.

After consulting this howto, http://www.mythtv.info/moin.cgi/DigitalSoundHowTo, I tried the long version of the asound.conf file as well as the shortened example. Neither seemed to fix the issue.

that is an odd issue indeed. usually sound a few seconds fast means that you are hearing the live audio, and don't have linein muted. but that should be the same using either analog output or spdif output.
